Diego López: "We're going for the win at the Santiago Bernabéu"
The Valencia CF forward spoke to the media in a press conference
Salvador González Voro played his last game on the 20th of June 1993 against Real Oviedo in a 3-0 win over the Asturian side at Mestalla thanks to goals from Ignacio Ibáñez, Tomás González and, Juan Sánchez.
In his eight-year stint at the club, he provided organization solidity, steeliness to the VCF backline a consistent cut-off wall over eight seasons. A loyal marshal that helped VCF back up to the top flight in the 1987 season.
Voro later returned to the club after hanging up his boots at CD Logroñés in 1998. In 2002 he took over as B team manager, in 2005 he took up the role of pitch delegate and five spells as an interim coach (2008, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017) where he had a fine record whenever he held the reins. He continues tied to the club as a team manager. A man beyond the call, a club beyond a man.
